Position Overview

The Finger Lakes Healthcare System has 2 vacancies for a Boiler Plant Operator at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center in the Engineering Service. The incumbent will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of a state-of-the-art steam generation plant, including natural gas, fuel oil, biomass boilers, and associated systems such as water softening and reverse osmosis.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain boilers and auxiliary equipment, ensuring continuous steam supply.
• Monitor and adjust plant operations, perform preventive maintenance, and maintain logs.
• Supervise biomass plant operations, including wood chip unloading and pollution control equipment.
• Test and analyze boiler water and adjust operations accordingly.
• Ensure safety and compliance with all operational procedures and safety protocols.

Work Schedule

M-F 7:30am - 4:00pm (subject to change)
