Job summary

Rowan University is seeking a Boiler Operator in Glassboro, NJ. You will operate stationary steam boilers, perform minor repairs, and maintain boiler room cleanliness, under licensed supervision. A Black Seal Boiler Operator license is required, with NJ driving eligibility if needed for operations.

You will be responsible for monitoring fuel consumption, water levels, and pressure, while ensuring safe and efficient boiler operation for a public-assembly building environment.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, valid Black Seal Boiler Operator License (high or low pressure) issued by the NJ Department of Labor.
• Driver's license valid in New Jersey if vehicle operation is necessary to perform duties.
• Experience operating and maintaining stationary boilers and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and perform minor repairs on stationary steam boilers and auxiliary equipment.
• Fires boilers, regulates stokers, and manages feed pump governors and gauges.
• Maintain water levels, fires, and drafts for efficient boiler operation.
• Keep records of fuel consumption, pressure, and steam flow.
• Perform cleaning and minor repairs to boiler rooms and equipment.
