Job summary

Rowan University’s Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, NJ is seeking an Operating Engineer III to operate, maintain, and repair stationary steam boilers and related equipment in the campus Power Plant.

This role supports safe, reliable plant performance and requires a New Jersey Black Seal Low‑Pressure License, a valid NJ Driver’s License, and 2+ years of relevant experience. You will report to the Supervisor in Physical Plant and be available for emergencies.

Qualifications

• New Jersey Black Seal Low-Pressure License required.
• Valid NJ Driver’s License required.
• Minimum 2 years' experience operating stationary steam boilers.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and repair boilers, turbines, motors, pumps, compressors, blowers, valves and other auxiliary equipment.
• Operate the Power Plant at maximum efficiency, ensuring minimal energy consumption.
• Record readings like fuel consumption, pressure, draft, temperatures and flow; adjust as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations and safety standards; complete paperwork and logs.
