Job summary

WNC Laundry seeks an experienced Black Seal Boiler Operator to maintain, operate, and repair boilers ensuring safe and efficient heating for the facility in East Orange, NJ. The role requires a NJ-licensed operator, strong mechanical aptitude, and meticulous attention to safety and process control.

Responsibilities include starting/stopping boilers, monitoring gauges, performing preventative maintenance, and keeping accurate operation logs.

Qualifications

• Valid Black Seal Boiler Operator License (Low Pressure) from the State of New Jersey.
• 3-5 years of experience operating and maintaining boilers or related equipment.
• Strong understanding of boiler safety standards and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate boilers, engines, and auxiliary equipment as needed.
• Read and interpret gauges, meters, and charts to monitor boiler operations.
• Perform preventative maintenance on boilers, plumbing, heating, and ventilation systems.
• Activate valves to regulate water, air, and fuel flow in boilers.
• Inspect safety devices and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
• Maintain logs of boiler operations, maintenance activities, and safety checks.
• Diagnose and correct equipment malfunctions and respond to alarms.
• Keep boiler room and related areas clean and organized.
• Monitor water quality and hardness for corrosion signs.
• Request and manage inventory of parts and supplies.
