Job summary

St. Peter's Health Partners in Albany, NY is seeking a Boiler Operator to manage the Boiler House shift and maintain continuous steam for heat, water, and sterilization. You will start/stop boilers, monitor firing rate, water level, and fuel supply, and follow safety procedures.

This full-time, rotating-shift role offers a pay range of $19.20–$26.63 per hour, based on experience and education. High school diploma and driver’s license required; 3 years high-pressure boiler experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 3 years high pressure steam boiler operation and repair preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Starts and stops boilers and adjusts controls to maintain required steam supply.
• Monitors boiler firing rate, flame conditions, water level, flue temperature and fuel supply.
• Follows Boiler House Procedure Manual in checking safety devices and relays on each boiler.
• Checks feed water pumps and supply system each shift
• Checks Natural Gas system regulators, automatic valves and vents for leaks and proper operation each shift
• Checks air compressor, dryer, filters and blow downs each shift
• Checks flue gas system for proper operation including automatic dampers, damper controllers, and heat recovery equipment for leaks and general condition
