Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of two years' experience operating a steam boiler plant.
• Must be available for weekends, evenings, nights, holidays, emergencies and scheduled work outages.
• FDNY certifications listed for required roles within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, clean, fire and adjust boilers to maintain steam supply for heating and equipment.
• Observe operating equipment, meters and gauges to ensure compliance with instructions.
• Notify watch engineer for major repairs and adjust controls to prevent malfunctions.
• Handle fuel orders, test boiler water, clean boiler internals, and respond to hospital emergencies.
