Job description

Responsibilities
  • Investigate, diagnose, assemble, repair and maintain equipment, machinery, and systems related to both automated and manual production equipment.
  • Perform hands‑on major and minor repairs and maintenance of material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, rolling racks, automated and mechanical conveyors, slick rail, loading dock systems, compressors, electrical and lighting panels, and other related plant equipment.
  • Coordinate and participate in preventative (PM), predictive, and corrective maintenance activities on machinery and equipment in the factory.
  • Operate and use manual tools and powered‑shop machinery and tools to maintain a wide variety of automated and manual equipment and machinery for proper functionality.
  • Repair and maintain material‑handling equipment and apply knowledge of mechanical operations for motor‑driven equipment.
  • Identify and locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using necessary tools and standard practices to correct and solve maintenance problems.
  • Maintain equipment, parts, tools, and supplies inventories in the maintenance shop.
  • Continually maintain a safe working operation.
  • Interact with and perform effectively in a high‑volume team environment while maintaining a positive relationship with management and department staff.
  • Support and assist in maintaining and improving the maintenance department as needed.
  • Perform other related activities as assigned and needed.

Qualifications
  • Hands‑on maintenance experience.
  • 2nd Class Fireman’s license to operate boilers.
  • Strong mechanical background and equipment troubleshooting experience.
  • Technical, vocational or trade school education is a plus.
  • Demonstrated mechanical skills and technical aptitude.
  • Prior diagnostic, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance (PM) experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with various hand and electric tools.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work‑related tasks and special projects.
  • Good communication skills.
  • English proficiency for speaking, reading, and understanding job duties.
  • Detail‑oriented and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work safely by following all maintenance department’s standard operating procedures.
  • Flexibility and dependability.
  • Willingness to work overtime, off‑shift, weekends, and holidays to support production needs.
  • Ability to work alone and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a production warehouse environment with exposure to various climate conditions (warm, cold, heat) and under stressful conditions such as small and high spaces.
Physical Requirements

Repetitive physical demands include continuous standing, walking, sitting, use of hands and fingers, grasping, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, stretching, crouching, crawling, pulling, pushing, working and reaching overhead, using ladders or lifts, and frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more.
