Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Boiler Mechanical Planner to join our Maintenance & Reliability team at the Brunswick Cellulose facility in Brunswick, Georgia. You will develop and coordinate maintenance plans for boiler systems and related utility equipment to support safe, reliable operations.

The role requires five+ years in maintenance planning for industrial boiler systems, CMMS experience, and knowledge of boiler components. Strong teamwork, organization, and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

Five or more years of maintenance planning experience for industrial boiler systems or similar utility equipment.
Experience developing job plans, work packages, and maintenance schedules in a CMMS environment.
Knowledge of boiler pressure parts, piping systems, and associated equipment.
Experience coordinating maintenance with contractors and internal craft resources.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to support outage planning and execution in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

Develop, review, and maintain detailed job plans and SMPs for preventive, predictive, corrective, and turnaround maintenance activities.
Create and validate BOMs, parts lists, labor estimates, and special tooling requirements.
Build and maintain CMMS work orders and task lists for boiler maintenance activities.
Develop weekly schedules and priorities with maintenance and operations teams.
Support work management processes to improve planning, craft productivity, and schedule compliance.
Lead or assist planning for boiler outages and shutdowns, including scope, materials, and contractor coordination.
Coordinate specialty contractors (welders, refractory, NDE, insulation, pressure vessels).
Support Major Expense Project planning related to boiler systems.
Create safe work packages for unplanned outages and emergency repairs.
Coordinate rapid procurement of materials for priority work.
Assist troubleshooting and root cause analysis for boiler issues.
Maintain equipment records, inspection histories, drawings, and maintenance documentation.
Identify opportunities to improve reliability and planning quality.
