The California Department of Industrial Relations, California OSHA Bureau of Investigations (BOI), is seeking an Analyst I to provide analytical support and perform office duties in DOSH/BOI in Sacramento.
The role analyzes Enforcement data to ensure fatality cases are opened in BOI and identifies serious injury cases needing opening, while handling case creation, inbox management, correspondence, records, and documents. Strong organizational skills required.

The Analyst I will perform a variety of analytical and general office work for the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), BOI. The Analyst I is responsible for analyzing Enforcement’s data to ensure all fatality cases have been opened in BOI and identify serious injury cases that need to be opened in BOI, on a monthly basis. Assist with creating BOI cases in the case management system, managing the BOI Outlook inbox, sending out both correspondence and required notifications to the appropriate parties when a case is opened and closed, typing, mail and document handling, filing, records management, document preparation and review, oral communications, record keeping, ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment. Provide support with the hiring process of new BOI staff. Assist with BOI’s Annual Report and provide quality control over the BOI cases that have been opened and ensure all opening and closing letters have been completed. This position will provide administrative support to the Chief Investigator, Chief Counsel, and the Administrative Chief of BOI.

The Analyst I works in an air-conditioned office building with natural and artificial lighting. In addition, the incumbent works in a typical office setting with an interior workstation in a smoke-free environment. While performing assigned duties, the incumbent may be required to assist team members and professional staff. The incumbent may also be required, for extended periods of time, to operate a computer terminal and transcribe tapes from a transcribing machine, and to photocopy and assemble documents.
