Job Description: Salad and Salad Bar Preparation

Position Purpose:
This role is responsible for preparing salads and managing the salad bar, including accurate batch preparation for fresh service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean vegetables, mix ingredients, and prepare vegetable plates.
- Prepare dressings based on recipes when needed.
- Follow recipes, control portions, and ensure presentation standards using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Maintain quality and accuracy of ingredients and dishes according to brand standards.
- Operate pasta-making and cooking equipment after acquiring necessary knowledge.
- Set up and clean your station with all required ingredients, prep, and utensils at the start and end of each shift.
- Restock items throughout the shift as needed.
- Ensure food safety and sanitation in preparation and serving areas.
- Cook foods evenly by turning or stirring as needed.
- Season and cook foods based on recipes or personal judgment and experience.
- Test foods for doneness by tasting, smelling, or piercing.
- Portion, garnish, and serve food to staff or patrons.
- Assist other cooks during emergencies or busy periods.
- Perform additional duties as directed by the Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager.
- Maintain a clean and organized station, practicing safety and sanitation.
- Properly use and maintain all kitchen equipment.
- Assist with cleaning and organizing the kitchen, storage, and coolers.
- Receive and organize deliveries, ensuring invoice accuracy to control costs.
- Work in heat sources to prepare meals.
- Maintain professionalism with all staff.
- Report shortages of ingredients, utensils, or sanitation supplies to management.
- Report pest activity promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Prepare foods for cooking or serving as instructed.
- Work effectively as part of a team and maintain personal cleanliness.
- Possess basic food handling, preparation, and cleaning skills.
- Communicate effectively in English for safety and teamwork.
- Manage time efficiently and work under pressure during high-volume periods.
- Demonstrate active listening, learning, and comprehension skills.
- Follow standards and safety protocols diligently.
- Lift up to 30 lbs as required.
