Job Description for Salad Preparation Position

SA Hospitality Group, located at 30 Main St, Southampton, NY 11968, is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team. Since 2003, our group has expanded across iconic New York neighborhoods and beyond, including locations in Manhattan, Southampton, East Hampton, Aspen, Milan, and Palm Beach.

Position Purpose: The person in this role will be responsible for salads and salad bar preparation, practicing accurate batch preparation for fresh service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Clean vegetables, mix ingredients, and prepare vegetable plates.
  2. Prepare dressings according to recipes when needed.
  3. Follow recipes, control portions, and ensure presentation standards using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
  4. Ensure the quality and accuracy of ingredients and dishes according to brand standards.
  5. Operate pasta making and cooking equipment after acquiring necessary knowledge.
  6. Set up your station with all required ingredients, prep, and utensils at the start and end of each shift.
  7. Restock items as needed throughout the shift.
  8. Inspect food preparation and serving areas for safe, sanitary practices.
  9. Turn or stir foods for even cooking and season and cook foods based on recipes or personal judgment.
  10. Test foods for doneness by tasting, smelling, or piercing with utensils.
  11. Portion, garnish, and serve food to staff or patrons.
  12. Assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods.
  13. Perform additional duties as requested by the Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager.
  14. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the station, practicing safety and sanitation standards.
  15. Use and maintain all kitchen equipment properly.
  16. Assist with cleaning and organizing the kitchen, coolers, and storage areas.
  17. Receive and organize deliveries, ensuring invoice accuracy to control costs.
  18. Work near heat sources to prepare meals.
  19. Maintain a professional demeanor with all staff.
  20. Report shortages or pest activity to the General Manager or Chef.
  21. Lift up to 30 lbs as needed.
