Job summary

Holman Collision Center Maple Shade is seeking a motivated Auto Body Technician Trainee to learn guided repairs and restoration of collision damage under supervision.

You will observe body and frame repairs, review repair cost estimates, remove damaged panels, and help prepare parts while ensuring proper alignment and finish. Candidates should have 1+ year auto body experience or a collision program, a clean driver's license, and ICAR-related credentials; high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of auto body experience or related training.
• Knowledge of frame and uni-body repairs required.
• ICAR certs desired; includes high school diploma, driver license and clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Observe body, frame and mechanical repair of vehicle.
• Review damage reports, prepare or review repair cost estimates, and plan work.
• Help remove damaged panels and identify plastics used on a vehicle.
• Shadow repair inspections for proper function, alignment and paint finish.
• Test drive to ensure proper handling and alignment.
• Learn to fit and weld replacement parts and grind welds.

What will you do?

Our Auto Body Technician Trainee is responsible for guided repairs and restoration, while shadowing both minor and major, of collision damage to vehicles.The Body Shop Tech is also responsible for:Observe body, frame and or mechanical repair of vehicleReview damage reports, prepare or review repair cost estimates, and plan work to be performedHelp remove damaged panels, and identify the family and properties of the plastic used on a vehicleShadowed the repair inspection vehicles for proper functioning, completion of work, dimensional accuracy, and overall appearance of paint job, and test drive vehicles to ensure proper alignment and handlingPosition dolly blocks against surfaces of dented areas and beat opposite surfaces to remove dents, using hammersLearn to fit and weld replacement parts into place, using wrenches and welding equipment, and grind down welds to smooth them, using power grinders and other tools.Will exert maximal physical demands involving bending, lifting, reaching and pushing/pulling

Pay

We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $25.42 - $36.23 USD per hour.
