Responsibilities
- Identify and determine parts required for repair; review repair orders, work orders, and Body Shop Managers' estimates; follow warranty guidelines; notify supervisor of any repair add-ons.
- Adjust, replace, and repair all series of truck and trailer equipment, including sheet metal repairs, fiberglass/panel repairs, fabrication and structural welding, installation and alignment of truck cab body components, electrical and mechanical repairs.
- Road test vehicles when necessary.
- Maintain current knowledge of repair processes and technical skills, including truck manufacturer’s procedures.
- Perform work as outlined on repair estimates efficiently and accurately, adhering to dealership and factory standards.
- Disassemble and inspect vehicles for additional or hidden repairs.
- Inform body shop estimator of additional damage or needs, or if repairs cannot be completed on time.
- Road test repaired vehicles to ensure quality.
- Supervise apprentice technicians’ work.
- Maintain ASE certifications.
Qualifications
- Experience in welding, suspension, and framework is a plus; willingness to learn and train required.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications.
- Damage Analysis and Estimating Certification for Collision Repair.
- Mechanical and Electrical Components Certification for Collision Repair.
- Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair Certification for Collision Repair.
- State Vehicle Inspector Certification.
- Certifications listed above or equivalent experience.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Willing to submit to pre-employment drug screening and background check.
