Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is seeking a Body Shop Leadman to perform all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck Bodyman, assist Bodymen, greet customers, sell labor, write repair orders, and estimate repair costs. The Leadman will ensure daily production schedules are met and will troubleshoot major problems while training apprentices.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and a proactive attitude. CDL is preferred, and a comprehensive benefits package is available.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years experience in truck body repair.
• Must have good communication skills.
• Must be able to work hand in hand with others in training situations.
• Must have a positive can do attitude.
• CDL preferred.
• Must have necessary tools required to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assists in greeting customers, selling labor, writing repair orders, and estimating cost of repairs.
• Ensures daily production schedule assigned to Bodymen is met.
• Performs skilled and complicated body work on heavy-duty trucks with minimum supervision.
• Performs troubleshooting on major problems.
• Works with and trains apprentice Bodymen.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Maintains favorable relations with the customers.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck Dealership and Leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Body Shop Leadman. The role of the Leadman is to perform all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck Bodyman; assists Bodymen when necessary, with difficulties and recommends needed solutions. Assists in greeting customers, selling labor, writing repair orders, and estimating the cost of repairs within set guidelines.

• Assists Bodymen as necessary with difficulties and make recommendations for need repairs.
• Ensures daily production schedule assigned to Bodymen is met.
• Performs skilled and complicated body work on heavy-duty trucks and related components with minimum supervision.
• Performs trouble shooting on major problems.
• Works with and helps train apprentice Bodymen.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Maintains favorable relations with the customers.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
