Murphy-Hoffman Company (MHC Kenworth) is seeking a Body Shop Leadman in Kansas City, MO. The role leads heavy-duty truck body repair, assists Bodymen, writes repair orders, and estimates repair costs within guidelines.

The candidate will greet customers, sell labor, and ensure repairs meet quality and schedule expectations. The ideal candidate has at least five years in truck body repair, strong communication skills, and the ability to train apprentices.

Qualifications

• Five years experience in truck body repair.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work hand in hand with others in training situations.
• Positive can-do attitude.
• CDL preferred.
• Must have necessary tools required to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist Bodymen as necessary with difficulties and make recommendations for needed repairs.
• Ensure daily production schedule assigned to Bodymen is met.
• Perform skilled and complicated body work on heavy-duty trucks and related components with minimum supervision.
• Perform trouble shooting on major problems.
• Work with and help train apprentice Bodymen.
• Maintain a neat and orderly working area.
• Advise the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Maintain favorable relations with the customers.

Job Overview & Essential Functions

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck Dealership and Leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Body Shop Leadman. The role of the Leadman is to perform all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck Bodyman; assists Bodymen when necessary, with difficulties and recommends needed solutions. Assists in greeting customers, selling labor, writing repair orders, and estimating the cost of repairs within set guidelines.

• Assists Bodymen as necessary with difficulties and make recommendations for need repairs.
• Ensures daily production schedule assigned to Bodymen is met.
• Performs skilled and complicated body work on heavy-duty trucks and related components with minimum supervision.
• Performs trouble shooting on major problems.
• Works with and helps train apprentice Bodymen.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area.

• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
