Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC sucht eine/n Gruppenleiter/in zur Gewährleistung der Sicherheit, Produktivität, Schulung und Arbeitsmoral in einer Produktionsgruppe. Sie überwachen die Produktion, erreichen Qualitätsziele und arbeiten eng mit Teamleitungen zusammen.

Sie verfügen über mehr als 3 Jahre Aufsichtserfahrung in der Fertigung und idealerweise einen Bachelor-Abschluss. Interne PV-45-Qualifikation oder aktuelle Gruppenleitungsposition wird erwartet.

Qualifications

• Abgeschlossene Schulbildung und Aufsichtserfahrung in Fertigungsumfeld erforderlich.
• Ein Bachelor-Abschluss in verwandtem Bereich wird bevorzugt.
• Interne Mitarbeiter: PV-45 oder derzeitige Position als Gruppenleiter erfüllt.

Responsibilities

• Dient als technischer und disziplinarischer Leiter der Gruppe.
• Organisiert und koordiniert alle Aufgaben der Gruppe und fördert das Leistungsvermögen.
• Leitet die Kommunikation zur Gruppe und zum Management.
• Treibt kontinuierliche Verbesserungen in Produktionsprozessen, Effizienz, Produktqualität, Umfeld und Ergonomie voran.
• Identifiziert Trouble-Spots und löst Probleme.
• Verwaltet Richtlinien und Verfahren des Unternehmens.
• Verantwortet Personalmanagement: Evaluierungen, Coaching, Ressourcenplanung und Teambildung.
• Koordiniert Schicht- und Arbeitsabläufe; plant Urlaub, Schichten, Qualifikationen und Zeitpläne.
• Gibt Feedback an beteiligte Abteilungen zur Leistungsverbesserung.
• Bereitet Berichte vor und präsentiert Ergebnisse dem Management.
• Führt Maßnahmen zur positiven Entwicklung von Mitarbeitenden ein.
• Löst komplexe Mitarbeitendenprobleme.
• Löst variierende und nicht routinemäßige Probleme; Bestellvorgänge von Materialien/Teilen möglich.
• Nimmt an regelmäßig geplanten Meetings teil.

Job Overview

Manages the safety, productivity, training, morale, and security of a Production Group. Monitors production and meets established production and quality targets. Possesses strong expertise in multiple technical work areas. Directly responsible for Team Leaders and indirectly responsible for Team Members.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the technical and disciplinary lead of the group.
• Oversees, organizes, and coordinates all work content of the group. Motivates, supports, develops, and challenges team members to their optimal potential.
• Manages flow of communication to the team and to management
• Drives continuous improvement for production processes, efficiency, product quality, environment, and ergonomics.
• Identifies trouble areas and resolves issues.
• Administer company policies and procedures.
• Assumes ownership and accountability for personnel management: Responsible for evaluations/reviews, coaching, counselling, resource planning and team building.
• Coordinates schedules and workflow for the team. Plans, controls, and approves vacation, employee shifts, qualifications, and schedules.
• Provides feedback to all involved departments to improve overall performance of the plant.
• Prepares reports based on data. Presents findings to management and others.
• Introduces measures for positive development of employees. Resolves complex employee issues.
• Resolves issues that are varied and non-routine. May order materials and/or spare parts.
• Facilitates and participates in regularly scheduled meetings.

Supervisor Responsibilities

• Multiple team leaders reporting to the Group Leader
• Responsibility for typically 30-50 associates in an automotive facility
• Project management and work shop involvement

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma and 3+ years of Supervisory experience in a Manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field is desired
• Internal Employees: Completed successfully PV-45 or currently fulfilling position of Group Leader

Knowledge and Skills

• Automotive industry experience a plus.
• Body Shop, welding, supervisory experience is a plus.
• Highly flexible individual with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong interpersonal skills required.
• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Computer skills essential, including strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
• Able to problem solve. Understands and applies "root cause analysis".
• Prefer experience in welding technologies such as mig, mag, spot, and laser welding.
