Automotive Collision Shop Estimator Trainee

The Ed Napleton Automotive Group is looking for our next Automotive Collision Shop Estimator Trainee at Wayzata Collision Center. The trainee is responsible for estimating and calculating the cost to repair a vehicle, replace vehicle parts, or the entire vehicle.

Job Responsibilities:

• Write Estimates & Supplements: Review vehicle damage and write quality estimates using CCC One estimating system.
• Work with the triage team and senior technician to write supplements based on discoveries after teardown.
• Create a repair plan and gather necessary TIS/repair documents, especially for welds on panels. Submit all supplements within 24 hours.
• Collaborate with insurance companies to manage claims and negotiate pricing if needed.
• Customer Service: Keep guests informed throughout the repair process about any changes.
• Parts Ordering: Coordinate with Parts Manager to order and locate necessary parts.
• Quality Check: Ensure all work meets or exceeds standards of The Wayzata Auto Center Collision Repair.
• File Reconciliation: Ensure all documents are current, signatures are obtained, and files are complete.
• Assist with completing repair and insurance documentation.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to accurately estimate vehicle damage (preferred)
• Ability to use automated systems to order parts (preferred)
• Follow insurance company Direct Repair guidelines (required)
• Experience with CCC and CDK estimating platforms (preferred)
• Experience in estimating, body shop, or automotive fields (preferred)
• Valid Driver’s License (required)
