Job summary

Insight Global seeks a Body Controls Systems Engineer to define and develop body controls features and software across vehicles, including closures and wash/wipe systems. Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 3+ years of experience developing features, requirements, and test cases in automotive/embedded systems.
• Experience with systems engineering workflows (requirements decomposition, traceability) and requirements capture in RM software (e.g., JAMA).
• Experience reading production-grade C code in a shared embedded software repository and validating changes.
• Experience with UDS for diagnostic and manufacturing-line troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet used for feature-level signaling.

Responsibilities

• Write L1 feature definitions, L1 requirements, and L1 test cases.
• Develop L3 function definitions, allocations, requirements, and test cases.
• Generate sequence diagrams and PUML artifacts for cross-team communication.
• Define network signals/messages for software integration and review code changes to ensure feature intent.
• Support manufacturing integration using UDS and line-side troubleshooting.
• Participate in functional safety analyses of complex subsystems.
• Define and validate diagnostic routines and fault handling for owned features.
• Coordinate daily with software, manufacturing, and component DRIs to align definitions with reality.
