Job summary

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is seeking a skilled Body Controls and Integration Engineer to join the Body-Controls Integration Team. You will integrate and validate software for body controls across vehicle programs, including lighting, closures, storage and comfort systems, and perform hands-on testing.

The role focuses on software and vehicle integration, test planning, and debugging across bench, SIL, HiL and in-vehicle environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering; master's preferred.
• 2+ years of experience with automotive control systems.
• Experience with requirements management systems.
• Experience with task management systems (e.g., JIRA).
• Experience with source control (Git) and revision control.
• Proficiency with CAN/LIN/Ethernet tools (Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape) and embedded hw/sw design.
• Demonstrated creativity in design and hands-on building.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Willing to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Integrate software components into the vehicle software system, supporting bench testing, in-vehicle integration and ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
• Create test plans and perform integration testing of Merge Requests for Body and Lighting features.
• Develop detailed test cases and scripts to validate features in Unit test, SIL, HiL, and vehicle test environments.
• Conduct hands-on software testing to ensure the software performs as expected in real-world conditions.
• Maintain the Body-Bucks, HiL test assets, and vehicle test assets, keeping them on current software and ready for Merge Request testing and bug triage.
• Triage bugs across programs to speed up resolution.
• Lead root cause analysis of issues across physical, electrical, and software domains.
• Prioritize and escalate issues based on user impact and program objectives.
• Collaborate closely with other Engineering teams and program partners to align on software defects and priorities, and to keep programs on schedule.
