Job summary

Auto-Owners Insurance is seeking a Bodily Injury Claims Representative to join our Claims department. The role involves assembling facts, evaluating coverage, and handling settlements while delivering exceptional service to agents, insureds, and others.

After initial in-person training, a merit-based work-from-home program may offer flexible time as defined by leadership. Candidates should have 3+ years of insurance claims experience and strong investigative and policy-interpretation skills.

Qualifications

• Three years of insurance claims related experience.
• Ability to organize and conduct investigations involving complex issues.
• Ability to interpret and communicate policy language.
• Knowledge of claim handling techniques and negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Assemble facts, determine coverage, evaluate loss and liability, and process payments.
• Study policies to understand coverage.
• Follow claims procedures and participate in negotiations and settlements.
• Provide high level of service to agents, insureds, and others.
• Occasionally meet with involved parties; conduct investigations by various means.
• Maintain adjuster licenses as required by jurisdiction.
• Handle complex claims through on-site investigations and mediations.
