The New York City Department of Transportation, Division of Bridges is responsible for managing the full life cycle of over 800 bridges and tunnels and over 600 retaining walls, ensuring safety of the public and ensuring mobility for all users. Team members may work on major project designs, oversee construction, oversee maintenance activities, perform engineering reviews and quality assurance tasks on some of the most iconic and complex projects in the City.
The New York City (“NYC” or the “City”) Department of Transportation Division of Bridges (the “Division”) seeks to hire a procurement professional to assist in the Division’s procurement, review Engineering Service Agreement (“ESA”) Task Orders, process Contract Management Actions (“CMA”), and assist in the applications for the Division’s Pre‑Qualification Lists (“PQL”). The unit’s duties require extensive and rigorous work with internal divisions of the Department of Transportation especially the Agency Chief Contracting Office (ACCO). Knowledge of government procurement and contracting regulations and statutesDemonstrated progressively responsible experience in coordinating and implementing complex contracts and procurement activities in a multifaceted governmental settingHands-on experience with procurement and budgeting systems/applications similar to the City’s FMS3 and Passport applicationsExposure to database/document management systemsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Excel and SharePointExperience tracking and maintaining forward momentum of various projects across a large organization andExcellent oral and written communications capabilities are required as well as very good interpersonal and organizational skills.
