Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a skilled marine maintenance technician to perform repairs on boat engines, propulsion systems, and electronic equipment. The role requires diagnosing mechanical issues, wiring installations, and performing preventative maintenance for a fleet of marina boats.

The candidate should be capable of lifting heavy parts, reading schematics, and working in diverse environments. A GA driver’s license and willingness to train are preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Knowledge, certification, and experience in boat engine repairs is helpful.
• Experience in electrical field and ability to read schematics preferred.
• Welding, electrical work, and torch experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce billable repairs and maintenance on work orders.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical components (boats, motors, drive systems) in various conditions.
• Install and repair electrical wiring, fuses, and controls for radios, GPS, trolling motors, etc.
• Follow preventative maintenance and maintain fleet vehicles in all weather conditions.
• Order parts, manage inventory, and maintain accurate billing records.
