Job summary

MarineMax Services Inc. seeks a Service Manager to lead the service department and drive service delivery for our boats. You will manage day-to-day operations, assign work, hire and coach staff, and ensure repairs are completed correctly and on time for both internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a service department and managing a team.
• Ability to read and interpret repair estimates and warranties.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate with customers and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day service operations including scheduling and distribution of work for service advisors, technicians and yard team.
• Hire, train, motivate, coach, monitor and evaluate the performance of all service team members.
• Use manufacturer guides to determine time estimates and ensure timely completion.
• Record problem details and cause/correction on each work order.
• Coordinate with manufacturers and warranty companies for approvals; obtain needed photos and parts documentation.
• Greet customers, determine needs, and provide clear work order instructions.
• Promote additional labor, parts and accessories professionally.
• Estimate repair costs and prepare itemized work orders with parts and labor.
• Obtain customer signatures and collect payment prior to delivery; seek approval for unknown costs.
• Coordinate technical training for the team and provide guidance as needed.
• Inspect quality of work prior to delivery and implement safe, efficient procedures.
• Maintain production reports and monitor department profitability and budgets.
• Participate in the MarineMax Safety Program and uphold a hazard-free workplace.
• Other duties as assigned.
