Job Description

Boat Rental Attendants serve as the concierge for boat rental operations at Lake Anne Plaza and Lake Audubon Boat Ramp. They meet and exceed customer expectations through friendly assistance with the rental process, responsive cleaning, and tidying. They create a welcoming environment, are knowledgeable about all lakefront and pool programs and activities, and are the public face of Reston Aquatics. The ideal candidate is energetic, outgoing, diligent, confident, and well-spoken.

Responsibilities include preparing the reception area and boats at the start of each shift, processing rental waivers and sales, maintaining daily logs, providing safety instructions and life jacket fittings, assisting customers on and off boats, handling retail sales, providing information, routine cleaning, completing reports, securing boats, recovering/reporting missing boats, and assisting with emergency responses such as crowd control and facilitating EMS access.

This role involves outdoor work near recreational water. No swimming or in-water tasks are required, but some maintenance tasks may involve being on-board personal watercraft like kayaks, paddleboards, or pedal-boats.

Requirements

• Age 16+
• Confident, mature, and well-spoken
• Ability to provide quality customer service to a diverse population
• Experience or comfort with open-water environments and personal watercraft
• CPR/First Aid certification required
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, hear whistle alerts from 50 yards, and see hand gestures from 25 yards
• Corrective eyewear or hearing aids are permitted

Boat rental operations run Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and holidays from 9 am to 8 pm. Applicants must be available during these hours.
