Job summary

Broadcom is seeking a Board Validation Engineer in Duluth, GA to validate next‑generation products against stringent requirements, focusing on Power, Thermal, Timing, and High-Speed Digital Design with host/target interfaces. You will design end-to-end validation procedures, perform deep signal analysis, and execute compliance tests.

The role involves owning test strategy, driving risk analysis, and advancing automation while documenting results and deviations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on hardware testing/board-level design experience.
• Experience with test methodologies, planning, execution and reporting.
• Ability to read complex board schematics and use PCB viewer tools.
• Proficiency with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, DMMs, thermal chambers, soldering tools.

Role Overview

As a Board Validation Engineer, you will validate next‑generation products against rigorous technical requirements, ensuring maximum reliability and performance. You will design, develop, and implement end‑to‑end validation procedures, perform deep signal analysis, and execute standardized compliance tests. Your primary focus areas will include Power, Thermal, Timing, High-Speed Digital Design, and Host/Target interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive Strategy: Own the hardware verification strategy and drive end‑to‑end test execution across a diverse portfolio, including storage controllers, network cards, switch devices, and AI accelerators.
• Mitigate Risk: Analyze performance data to identify product risks, communicating findings clearly and proactively to cross‑functional engineering teams.
• Document Results: Author comprehensive test reports with precise documentation of results, deviations, and failure analysis.
• Advance Automation: Identify, architect, and implement automation frameworks to streamline test execution, data collection, and reporting processes.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience: 8+ years of hands‑on experience in hardware testing (including test methodologies, planning, execution, and reporting) or board‑level design.
• Lab Equipment: Proficiency with laboratory tools, including oscilloscopes, digital multi‑meters, thermal chambers, and soldering tools.
• Schematics: Proven ability to read and interpret complex board schematics and utilize PCB Viewer software tools.

Technical Skills & Tool

• Protocols: Deep familiarity with common bus protocols (e.g., DDR4, PCIe, UART, I2C, SPI).
• Environments: Competency working across both Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Software & AI: Experience utilizing Python for test scripting, GitHub for version control, and modern AI developer tools like Claude Code to accelerate workflow automation.

Compensation And Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is USD 109,700.00 To USD 175,500.00
