Job summary

Success Academy Charter Schools seeks a seasoned Head of Board Relations to shape governance for its New York and Florida boards. You will lead board strategy, engagement, and communications, partnering with C-suite leaders to align governance with growth plans.

You will manage recruitment, training, and evaluations; oversee meeting logistics; and ensure regulatory compliance across states, while building strong relationships with trustees and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or JD preferred.
• 12+ years of governance, non-profit board relations, or legal/compliance leadership with C-suite exposure.
• Strong written, verbal, and strategic relationship-building skills.
• Experience with governance, bylaws, and multi-state regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee strategy and management of board administration, governance facilitation, committee operations, communications, and board member engagement.
• Serve as strategic partner to CEO and board leadership; architect meeting cadences and reporting frameworks.
• Manage board recruitment, term tracking, succession planning, and annual self-evaluations.
• Draft executive correspondence and prepare board books and materials.
• Plan and execute all board and committee meetings and related events.
• Lead governance compliance, minutes, charters, and conflict-of-interest disclosures.
