Make an impact in Pima County District 3! Pima County is seeking a thoughtful, collaborative, and highly skilled professional to support the District 3 Supervisor in addressing constituent concerns, researching and advancing policy priorities, and connecting with communities throughout the district. This position plays a key role in preparing for Board of Supervisors meetings, developing clear and effective communications, coordinating community outreach, and building strong relationships with County departments, community organizations, and government and community leaders. The successful candidate will serve as a representative of District 3 at meetings, events, boards, and committees while helping ensure the Supervisor’s priorities are effectively communicated and supported.

Preferred candidates will have at least five years of policy-related experience be it in government, nonprofit organizations, or other institutions, at the local, state, or federal level. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate experience and commitment to building community leadership and capacity to influence decision makers and advocate for community needs.

  • Provides general administrative support, including drafting correspondence, filing, and maintaining records related to Board actions and constituent concerns;
  • Maintains appropriate security and confidentiality of information created or encountered in the performance of assigned duties;
  • Prepares and monitors the budget and expenditures for the office, ensuring compliance with County policies.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business administration, public administration or related field AND two years of professional administrative experience.

(Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)

Selection Procedure

Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources. Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process.

Licenses and Certificates: Some positions require a valid Arizona Class D driver license at the time of application or appointment. Failure to obtain / maintain the required licensure shall be grounds for termination.

Working Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment, and routinely uses office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and audiovisual systems. This position is largely sedentary, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. This position also requires frequent travel throughout the district, which is over 7,000 square miles in area. This position frequently communicates with elected officials, county staff, and constituents and must be able to exchange accurate and timely information.
