The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Board Eligible Physician to provide comprehensive medical care and psychiatric evaluations for individuals with behavioral health and developmental disabilities.

This position is at Georgia Regional Hospital Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA, requiring collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to implement treatment plans and ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
Residency in Psychiatry, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related specialty.
Board Eligibility in Psychiatry, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related; Board Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough medical examinations and psychiatric assessments for individuals with diverse behavioral health needs.
Develop individualized treatment plans including medications, therapy recommendations, and lifestyle interventions with an interdisciplinary team.
Order and interpret labs and imaging to aid diagnosis and monitoring.
Provide crisis intervention and emergency medical care as needed.
Document encounters, plans, and progress in the EHR system in a timely manner.
Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development.
Educate patients and families on conditions, options, and prevention.
Adhere to policies, confidentiality, and professional guidelines.
