Job summary

The State of Georgia invites you to join Georgia Regional Hospital Atlanta in Decatur as a Physician (Board Eligible). You will provide comprehensive medical care and psychiatric evaluations for individuals with behavioral health and developmental disabilities.

To qualify, you must hold an MD or DO from an accredited school, complete a relevant residency, hold Board Eligibility (Board Certification preferred), and possess a valid Georgia license and DEA registration.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited school.
  • Residency completed in Psychiatry, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related specialty.
  • Board Eligibility in Psychiatry, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related field; Board Certification preferred.
  • Valid, unrestricted medical license in Georgia or eligibility to obtain.
  • Current DEA registration.
  • Strong clinical, communication, and patient-care skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with electronic health records.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct medical examinations and psychiatric assessments.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with meds and therapy.
  • Order and interpret lab tests, imaging and diagnostics.
  • Provide crisis intervention and emergency care as needed.
  • Document encounters and progress in EHR.
