Carbon Positive Australia is a leading not-for-profit organisation dedicated to high-integrity ecosystem restoration that delivers measurable impacts for nature, climate change mitigation, and community wellbeing.

Our organisation is evolving as this sector develops with our strategic direction centred on two programs:

Regional Restoration Program: Implementing large-scale, high-integrity ecosystem restoration projects with an emphasis on biodiversity and carbon sequestration

Community Pocket Forest Program: Establishing urban greening projects to increase canopy cover, enhance biodiversity, and strengthen community engagement with nature

Board Director Opportunity

We are seeking to appointtwo new Directorsto join our Board and help shape the future of ecosystem restoration in Australia and drive innovation in community-centred environmental solutions. These voluntary positions offer the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to ecosystem restoration and community empowerment across Australia.

Bring Your Expertise to Drive Change

We have identified several priority areas where we seek to strengthen our collective capability. Candidates may have expertise in one or more of these areas:

Priority Skills Areas:

1.Fundraising & Philanthropy

• Experience in securing philanthropic donations and grants
• Strong networks in the philanthropic sector
• Knowledge of diverse funding models for not-for-profits

2.Digital Transformation & Technology

• Expertise in digital strategy and implementation
• Understanding of technology trends relevant to environmental organisations
• Knowledge of cyber security principles and risk management

3.Community Program Experience

• Experience developing and implementing community-based programs
• Understanding of indigenous engagement principles and practice
• Background in creating meaningful community partnerships

4.Environmental Sector Knowledge

• Understanding of biodiversity regulations in Australia
• Knowledge of carbon legislation and methodologies
• Experience with land restoration projects
• Familiarity with urban greening initiatives
