Animal Emergency & Specialty Center - Chattanooga is seeking a Board-Certified Surgeon or Residency-Trained Veterinarian to lead and expand our surgical service within a collaborative emergency and specialty hospital in Chattanooga, TN. The ideal candidate will hold a DVM, be either a DACVS or residency-trained and board-eligible in veterinary surgery, and maintain an active Tennessee license.

Qualifications

  • DVM degree or equivalent required.
  • ACVS Diplomate or residency-trained and board-eligible in veterinary surgery.
  • Active veterinary license in Tennessee (transfer fees covered).

Responsibilities

  • Build and shape the surgical service and program.
  • Provide leadership opportunities and pathway development.
  • Practice advanced surgical medicine with access to CT, ultrasound, endoscopy, ICU, and fully equipped suites.
  • Collaborate with surgery, oncology, and emergency clinicians.
  • Manage diverse soft tissue and orthopedic surgical cases with critical care support.
  • Mentor emergency clinicians, interns, and veterinarians to foster clinical excellence.
  • Offer flexible scheduling with both full-time and part-time options.

Help build and shape the future of veterinary surgery in Chattanooga! Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Chattanooga is seeking a Board-Certified Surgeon or Residency-Trained Veterinarian to join our growing surgery service within a collaborative emergency and specialty hospital.

Our ideal candidate:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent
  • DVM (or equivalent) from an accredited veterinary school
  • Active veterinary license in Tennessee (or ability to obtain - we cover state licensure transfer fees)
  • Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (DACVS) or residency-trained and board-eligible in veterinary surgery

  • A 6,180-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility providing advanced emergency and specialty care
  • A team of Specialists in Oncology and Surgery, and a cohesive group of nine (and counting) Emergency Clinicians
  • A skilled team of Licensed Veterinary Technicians and support staff (4 to 1 Veterinary Technician to DVM Ratio)
  • A dedicated leadership team including a Hospital Administrator, a Director of Clinical Staff, and a Client Service Supervisor
  • Practice advanced ECC medicine with access to CT imaging, ultrasound, endoscopy, ICU monitoring, transfusion medicine, and fully equipped surgical suites to support complex case management
