Carolina Veterinary Specialists (CVS) in Matthews, NC seeks a dedicated Board-Certified or Residency Trained Small Animal Internist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality veterinary care and communicate effectively to build lasting client relationships.

You will collaborate with experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff, working closely with Hospital and Regional Managers.

Qualifications

• DVM or VMD degree from an accredited college or university (required).
• 1-year rotational internship in small animal medicine, surgery, ER. (required).
• Completed a 3-year AVMA-approved residency program. (required).
• Current State Veterinary License. (required).
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained. (required).
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills. (required).
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment. (required).
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. (required).

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Prescribe medications and manage pharmacology according to protocols.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
• Collaborate with Hospital Manager on weekly priorities.
• Monitor daily hospital protocols from intake to discharge.
• Participate in practice management updates and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
