Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Matthews, NC is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained CRITICALIST to join our 24-hour emergency and referral center. We are a multi-specialty ER practice that offers an exceptionally high level of patient care near the thriving metropolis of Charlotte, NC.

CVS Matthews operates with VECCS Level II certification and offers a collaborative culture with opportunities across internal medicine, surgery, neurology, cardiology, and oncology in a busy referral

Qualifications

• Must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university.
• Completion of a 1-year internship in a veterinary setting.
• Completion of a AVMA-approved residency program (3 years).
• Current State Veterinary License and DEA registration.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills with teamwork and communication ability.
• Commitment to high-quality veterinary care and compassionate service.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical workups.
• Communicate with clients and provide education.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Perform pharmacy duties and follow controlled substance protocols.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
• Collaborate with Hospital Manager on priorities and expectations.
• Monitor hospital protocols from intake to discharge.
• Attend daily rounds when possible to ensure high standards.
• Participate in practice management updates and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
