Job summary

Eastern Carolina Veterinary Medical Center in Wilmington, NC is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Internist to join our growing team. Work alongside experienced emergency and specialty clinicians in a high-volume referral hospital with advanced diagnostics and a commitment to exceptional patient care.

This role offers opportunities to mentor staff, participate in ongoing CE and teaching initiatives, and contribute to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and client communication.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree required.
• ACVIM board certification or residency trained in small animal internal medicine is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex internal medicine cases across GI, hepatobiliary, infectious disease, endocrine, hematologic and respiratory areas.
• Perform and interpret advanced diagnostics including ultrasound, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, CT, and other imaging.
• Collaborate with Emergency clinicians, surgeons and specialty teams for comprehensive patient care.
• Coordinate consultations, referrals, and transfers to ensure seamless continuity of care.
• Mentor technicians and staff to foster a collaborative clinical environment.
• Pursue opportunities to expand expertise in ultrasound and interventional procedures.
