Job summary

RieLes Group is seeking two Board-Certified Interventional Radiologists to provide on-site services at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System. The role includes consultations, diagnostic imaging, therapeutic procedures, and resident supervision in accordance with VA standards and American College of Radiology guidelines.

The positions are contract-based, on-site in Minneapolis, with a regular Monday–Friday schedule and on-call coverage after hours and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Board-certified in Interventional Radiology (ABR).
  • Active US medical license and eligibility for VA credentialing.
  • ACLS certification and current CME requirements.
  • NPI number and DEA registration where applicable.
  • Fluency in English required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site IR consultations and procedures.
  • Perform diagnostic imaging and therapeutic IR interventions.
  • Manage patient care and follow-up per VA standards.
  • Supervise residents and fellows as part of program responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and participate in VA meetings.

Position Type: Contract / On-Site

Positions: 2 Board-Certified Interventional Radiologists

Contract Period: December 1, 2026 – November 30, 2027, with an additional ordering period available

Position Overview

The Minneapolis VA Health Care System is seeking Board-Certified Interventional Radiologists to provide on-site Interventional Radiology services to VA beneficiaries. Physicians will provide consultations, diagnostic imaging, therapeutic procedures, patient management, follow-up care, and resident supervision in accordance with VA standards and American College of Radiology guidelines

Work Schedule

Regular Schedule:

Monday–Friday

8:00 AM–4:30 PM

On-site coverage is required during normal Interventional Radiology and vascular ultrasound clinic hours

Two Board-Certified Interventional Radiologists are required on-site Monday through Friday

A daily 3–8 minute IR staff huddle is required before the first case

On-Call Schedule

IR coverage is required after 4:30 PM Monday–Friday, as well as weekends and holidays

Friday–Saturday: 4:30 PM–7:30 AM

Saturday–Sunday: 7:30 AM–7:30 AM

Sunday–Monday: 7:30 AM–7:30 AM

On-call physicians must be available by phone within 15 minutes

On-call physicians must be able to report on-site within 60 minutes when required

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Interventional Radiology consultations and procedures
  • Perform diagnostic imaging and therapeutic interventions
  • Provide patient management, post-procedure evaluation, and follow-up care
  • Interpret applicable vascular ultrasound examinations, CT angiography (CTA), and MR angiography (MRA)
  • Review consults, orders, and next-day cases for at least two hours daily
  • Provide clinical consultation regarding complications
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records
  • Supervise and teach residents and fellows
  • Participate in clinical conferences, quality assurance activities, and VA staff meetings

  • IVC filter placement
  • Dialysis access interventions
  • Thoracentesis and paracentesis
  • Lumbar punctures

  • Other Interventional Radiology procedures within the physician's privilege
Minimum Qualifications
  • Board Certification: American Board of Radiology (ABR), with Interventional Radiology certification
  • Medical License: Current, full, and unrestricted U.S. medical license
  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of Interventional Radiology experience
  • Experience performing a broad range of IR procedures
  • Proficiency with CT, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and interventional equipment
  • ACLS certification required
  • Current CME requirements must be maintained
  • Must successfully complete VA credentialing and privileging
  • Must possess or obtain an appropriate NPI
  • Current DEA certificate required
  • Fluency in English is required
Additional Requirements
  • Selected physicians must meet applicable VA training and occupational health requirements, including VA-required training, ACLS, HIPAA/privacy training, moderate sedation training, fluoroscopy safety training, and other mandatory courses as applicable
  • The physician must also complete the Minneapolis VA credentialing and privileging process before providing services
