Job summary

Washington County Mental Health Services (WCMHS) seeks a Board Certified Behavioral Consultant to design and supervise ABA-based behavior supports for children and youth with emotional and behavioral challenges. You will collaborate with families, educators, and clinical teams to reduce barriers to learning and promote positive behaviors in homes, schools, and communities.

The role emphasizes assessing behavior, developing data-driven plans, and guiding adults implementing them, with supervision

Qualifications

  • Experience with children and youth who present significant emotional and behavioral challenges.
  • Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis principles and their practical application.
  • Experience in school settings preferred.
  • Ability to assess behavior, develop data-driven plans, and adjust interventions based on outcomes.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a safe, reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and direct behavioral assessments for referred children and youth.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and revise individualized behavior support plans.
  • Manage or co-manage the behavioral planning components for up to 10 assigned cases.
  • Train and supervise staff in the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of behavior plans.
  • Provide ongoing consultation to WCMHS case managers and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Provide consultation to families as directed.

Board Certified Behavioral ConsultantWCMHS is seeking a Board-Certified Behavior Consultants to make measurable difference in the lives of children and youth facing significant emotional and behavioral challenges, helping them gain stability, confidence, and the skills needed to succeed at home, in school, and in their communities.Use evidence-based ABA practices to design thoughtful, individualized behavior supports and guide the adults who implement them every day. Through close collaboration with families, educators, and clinical teams, the Behavior Specialist helps reduce barriers to learning, strengthen positive behaviors, and create environments where young people can thrive.Summary of DutiesConduct and direct behavioral assessments for referred children and youth under the supervision of a BCBA or Senior Clinical staffDevelop, implement, monitor, and revise individualized behavior support plansManage or co-manage the behavioral planning components for up to 10 assigned casesTrain and supervise staff in the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of behavior plansProvide ongoing consultation to WCMHS case managers and interdisciplinary team membersProvide consultation and guidance to families as directedCompensation and BenefitsWCMHS provides a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, retirement, and a generous paid time off package including flexible holidays and 12 vacation days in year one.The starting pay range for this position is $34.37 - $35.77 per hourSummary of QualificationsExperience working with children and youth who present significant emotional and behavioral challengesKnowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis principles and their practical applicationExperience working in school settings is preferredAbility to assess behavior, develop data-driven plans, and adjust interventions based on outcomesValid driver’s license, excellent driving record, and access to a safe, reliable, insured vehicle is requiredThe ability to deliver services and complete treatment notes in EnglishWorkplace ConditionsWork takes place in a school and community settings. Frequent transportation of clients in one's own vehicle.
