Job summary

Maynard Public Schools is seeking a collaborative Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to support students with behavioral, social-emotional, developmental, and autism-related needs across the district.

The BCBA will provide consultation, coaching, and program development for district-wide initiatives and specialized programs in a 200-day-per-year role. Collaboration with families, educators, and outside agencies is essential.

Qualifications

Job Description

Maynard Public Schools is seeking a collaborative, student-centered Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to support students with behavioral, social-emotional, developmental, and autism-related needs across the district. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with educators, related service providers, administrators, families, and outside agencies to develop and implement evidence-based programming that promotes student success in inclusive learning environments.

The BCBA serves as the district's behavioral specialist while providing consultation, coaching, and program development for both district-wide initiatives and specialized programs. This is a 200-day-per-year position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), behavioral observations, and other behavior-based evaluations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs), behavior goals, reinforcement systems, and other behavioral interventions.
  • Collaborate with teachers and related service providers to design individualized behavioral and instructional programming.
  • Support curriculum-based assessments (e.g., VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R) and use assessment data to guide intervention planning.
  • Develop, monitor, and analyze student data collection systems to inform instructional and behavioral decision-making.
  • Train, coach, and model evidence-based behavioral and instructional practices for teachers and paraprofessionals.
  • Participate in IEP Team meetings and collaborate with families and outside providers to support student programming.
  • Collaborate with administrators and families to support students with significant behavioral or school attendance challenges, including home visits when appropriate.
  • Serve as the district's Safety-Care Trainer by providing certification, coaching, and crisis response support.
  • Provide professional development on behavior management, specialized programming, and evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate with administrators to build staff capacity and foster positive, supportive learning environments.
Qualifications
  • Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.
  • Massachusetts Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst (LABA) preferred.
  • Experience supporting students with behavioral, developmental, and autism-related needs in educational settings.
  • Experience conducting FBAs, developing behavior support plans, and analyzing behavioral data.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based instructional and behavioral practices for students with autism and other developmental disabilities.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 30 pounds.
  • Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Support Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behavior.
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures including kneeling, squatting, crouching, crawling, sitting, standing, bending, for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to walk, move quickly, and actively supervise students in a variety of school settings to support safety and engagement.
  • Must be able to maintain prolonged periods of working on a computer while sitting at a desk.

Terms of Employment: Employment is contingent upon completing a satisfactory check of criminal records (C.O.R.I), and a suitable fingerprint check.

Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated by the Director of Student Services in accordance with Maynard Public Schools policies and procedures.
