Job summary

National Center on Institutions and Alternatives Inc is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our Special Education team in Baltimore, MD. The role focuses on FBAs, BIPs, and collaboration with educators and related service providers to support students with disabilities.

The BCBA will participate in IEP meetings, analyze data, and coach staff on positive behavior support while ensuring compliance with IDEA and state regulations.

Qualifications

  • Current BCBA certification in good standing.
  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Two years experience working in school-based or special education settings preferred.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and consultation skills.
  • Knowledge of IEP processes, behavioral interventions, and state regulations.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture.

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Collaborate with special education teachers, school leadership, related service providers, and academic support staff.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, problem-solving discussions, and data reviews.
  • Analyze behavioral data and adjust interventions using evidence-based practices.
  • Provide staff coaching and training on positive behavior supports, de-escalation techniques, and data collection.
  • Monitor implementation fidelity and student progress across educational settings.
  • Support school-wide behavioral initiatives and classroom management strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with IDEA, ethical standards, and state regulations.
  • Supervise Behavior Support Staff and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Position Details

This is a full-time, salaried, 12-month position within NCIA's Youth in Transition School, reporting to the Executive Director of Education.
