Job summary

National Center on Institutions and Alternatives Inc. seeks a BCBA-certified clinician to conduct FBAs, design and adjust individualized behavior plans, and monitor client progress in multiple settings (home, day programs, community). You will train staff, collect data, and ensure ethical and compliant service delivery.

Requires a Master’s degree in ABA or related field and current BCBA certification. Up to 25% travel and flexible scheduling accompany a full-time role in Baltimore, MD.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work across homes, day programs, and community settings
• Fast-paced environment requiring flexibility and strong prioritization
• Some travel required between locations

• Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs), skill assessments, and preference assessments
• Develop, implement, and modify individualized behavior plans (BPs) and/or skill-acquisition programs
• Collect, analyze, and interpret client data to guide clinical decisions and monitor progress
• Provide training, modeling, and support to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and direct support staff
• Collaborate with families and guardians to ensure consistency and generalization of skills
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
• Ensure services are delivered in accordance with BACB ethical standards and organizational policies
• Implements activities consistent with NCIA policies and procedures in order to promote the safe, cost-effective, and appropriate operation of the Behavioral Services Department.
• Conducts quality in-service training for direct service staff based on professional areas of expertise.
• Monitors quality clinical service delivery and documentation, ensuring adequate documentation to support the level of funding requested.
• Participates in relevant interagency meetings and represents the agency effectively and professionally.
• Responds to clients, parents/families, and other external entities regarding questions, complaints/grievances with behavioral services.
• All other duties that may be assigned as the BSS program grows and evolves.

QualificationsEducation and/or Experience

• Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing is required
• Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field
• At least 2 years of direct service experience with mental health, substance abuse and developmental disabilities preferred
• Strong clinical, observational, and data analysis skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Other Qualifications

• Possess a valid Driver’s License from the state of residence and must have an acceptable driving record as determined by criteria established by NCIA’s insurance carrier and by NCIA policy.
• Experience with crisis management models and counseling.

Physical Demands

• Communication and auditory ability are required.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, climb, and reach.

Work Environment

• Both indoor and outdoor environments, with potential exposure to weather elements, such as rain, wind, or snow on a regular basis. May require travel to different locations.
• Exposure to moderate noise to high volumes of noise, including vehicle sounds.
• Fast-paced environment, which includes daily scheduling and handling multiple requests and personnel.
