Job summary

Spencer Stuart seeks to recruit an Analyst for the Board & CEO Advisory Practice, ideally based in Chicago or New York City. Analysts support Board Advisory search execution from launch to completion, building research strategies and client-ready materials.

They will develop target company lists, candidate pipelines, market insights, and participate in business development while advancing along a career path toward Consultant roles. Strong research and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Recent or soon-to-be university graduate with a four-year bachelor’s degree.
• Graduating Fall 2026 is welcome; Spring 2027 graduates are not eligible.
• GPA of 3.4+ in any field of study.
• Leadership experience from internships, work, community service, athletics, or student organizations.
• Advanced research, analysis, and synthesis skills to develop insights from incomplete information.
• Strong project management skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-directed, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities and raise concerns early.
• Intellectual curiosity about corporate governance and ability to learn unfamiliar industries quickly.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Permanent work authorization for the country of application.

Responsibilities

• Support Board Advisory search assignments from kick-off through completion, translating the client mandate into a research and execution plan.
• Conduct deep, creative research across industries to develop target company lists, candidate pipelines, and market insights.
• Build understanding of each client’s business, strategy, ownership, governance priorities, and industry context.
• Maintain accurate project materials and produce client-ready documents with attention to detail.
• Monitor progress, flag risks, and suggest practical next steps.
• Contribute research and execution support to pitch materials, thought leadership, and business development.
