Job summary

Spencer Stuart is seeking an Analyst for the Board & CEO Advisory Practice. Based in Chicago or New York City, the analyst will support board advisory assignments with rigorous research, develop target lists and candidate pipelines, and contribute to client-ready deliverables while learning governance contexts.

The role emphasizes project management, analytical thinking, and proactive collaboration within a team of consultants and associates, with clear opportunities for career development

Qualifications

• Recent or soon-to-be university graduate with a four-year bachelor's degree.
• Strong academic performance (3.4+ GPA) in any field of study.
• Well-roundedness demonstrated through leadership in internships, work experience, or student organizations.
• Advanced research, analysis, and synthesis skills with the ability to derive insights from incomplete information.
• Strong project management skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-directed, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities and raise concerns early.

Responsibilities

• Support Board Advisory search assignments from kickoff through completion, translating client mandates into research and execution plans.
• Conduct deep, creative research to develop target company lists, candidate pipelines, executive profiles, and market insights.
• Build an understanding of each client’s business, governance priorities, and board context.
• Maintain accurate, organized project materials and produce clear client-ready documents with high attention to detail.
• Monitor progress, flag issues early, and suggest practical next steps.
• Contribute research and execution support to pitch materials and business development initiatives as needed.
