Job summary

BMW of Long Island City is seeking an experienced BMW-certified Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and deliver quality work at BMW factory standards. This role requires prior BMW dealership experience and current BMW certification at the Associate (B) level or higher.

You will diagnose issues, perform advanced drivability and electrical diagnostics, service engines and systems, and provide accurate estimates while adhering to warranty requirements and dealership procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of automotive technician experience.
• Prior BMW dealership technician experience required.
• Current BMW certification at the B level or higher.
• All required BMW training and ASE credentials must be current.
• Ability to obtain a New York State Motor Vehicle Inspector License within the first 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets the dealership’s insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Complete repair orders as assigned.
• Diagnose vehicle concerns and determine the appropriate repairs.
• Perform advanced drivability, electrical, and computerized diagnostics using BMW technology.
• Repair and maintain engines, brakes, steering, suspension, electrical systems, air-conditioning systems, and other mechanical and electronic components.
• Inspect vehicles for additional maintenance or repair needs and communicate findings to the Service Advisor.
• Provide accurate labor, time, and parts estimates.
• Follow BMW repair instructions, technical bulletins, warranty requirements, and dealership procedures.
• Perform quality-control inspections and post-repair test drives.
• Complete repair orders, warranty documentation, and other required records accurately.
• Communicate additional repair needs, concerns, and potential delays promptly.
