Job summary

St. David's South Austin Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse Bone Marrow Transplant Coordinator to influence patient care through collaboration with the transplant team. You will assess needs, educate patients and families, and coordinate care across the transplant pathway.

You will work with donors, NMDP, and various care teams to ensure timely pre- and post-transplant activities, while upholding standards and improving outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as Registered Nurse in stem cell transplant/hematology nursing OR prior transplant coordination.
• Current RN license and Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Certification in BMT-CN or ONC within 2 years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Optimize patient outcomes and quality of life throughout the cell therapy process.
• Coordinate donor pre-transplant workups and post-transplant care with the transplant team.
• Educate patients, families and caregivers on transplant processes and post-care needs.
• Collaborate with internal departments and the National Marrow Donor Program as needed.
• Ensure insurance authorization and documentation are completed for transplant procedures.
• Promote professional standards and participate in performance improvement activities.
