Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health seeks experienced Clinical Nurses I–III to provide direct, age-specific care and to support the health care team in prevention, wellness, and comfort. The role includes safe medication administration, leadership at the unit level, and documentation per orders within a multidisciplinary plan of care.

Clin I–III require varying RN experience; Clin I is entry, Clin II demands 12–24 months, Clin III requires 3 years and possible LPN/Care Partner experience.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state.
• AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
• Clin II: 12 to 24 months RN experience.
• Clin III: 3 years of clinical experience.
• Diploma or Associate Degree from a professional nursing program.
• All RNs without a Bachelor's degree must enroll in RN to BSN within 2 years and complete within 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and documents direct, age-specific care per medical orders and care plan.
• Safely administers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities/interactions.
• Organizes work and supervises others (RNs, LPNs, Care Partners, Unit Secretaries).
• Follows physician/licensed orders within Virginia nursing regulations and ANA code of ethics.
• Clinicians work all three shifts, weekends and holidays as scheduled.
