Job summary

Omega Solutions Inc. in Berkeley seeks an hands-on electrical systems engineer to design the electrical infrastructure for a safe, modular BMS test bench. You will translate high-level test requirements into detailed architectures and BOMs for fabrication.

Responsibilities include CAN/CAN-FD architecture, signal isolation, power switching and lab integration. You will ensure reliable testing and field readiness while working onsite for the contract duration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on experience designing electrical hardware for test benches, lab systems or embedded validation.
• Working knowledge of CAN/CAN-FD physical-layer design, including termination and topology.
• Experience specifying: signal routing, electrical isolation, GPIO interfaces, relay switching, DC power distribution and monitoring.
• Ability to evaluate custom designs against commercial solutions with justification.
• Ability to create schematics, wiring specs and BOMs for fabrication.
• Lab-debugging skills using oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers and power supplies.
• Ability to work independently in an open-ended environment and onsite in Berkeley.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate CAN gateway and bus-selector architectures and determine channel counts for AMU/Pack networks.
• Design or specify isolation and control solutions, including GPIO and relay switching.
• Specify power distribution, grounding and monitoring across DC and AC loads.
• Develop test hardware, harnesses and integration plans for lab benches.
• Document designs clearly for independent fabrication and future maintenance.
• Contribute to future scoping of fiber transceivers and programmable attenuators.
