Job summary

The Bachrach Group is seeking an experienced BMS Field Engineer in New York, NY, onsite to support programming, commissioning, and deployment of BAS/BMS in commercial projects. You will manage field activities from startup through completion, including graphics, integration, testing, and coordination with trades.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of field experience in HVAC controls and building automation.
• Strong experience with DDC systems, BAS/BMS commissioning, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret control drawings, mechanical plans, and sequences of operation.
• Knowledge of HVAC mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience supporting commercial construction projects.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Program, configure, and commission BAS/BMS systems based on project specifications and sequences of operation.
• Develop and deploy control graphics, programming files, and front-end configurations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving controllers, networks, sensors, panels, and devices.
• Perform system integration, calibration, testing, startup, and optimization activities.
• Review project documents, RFIs, and scope requirements to ensure accurate execution.
• Coordinate with project managers, technicians, subcontractors, and other trades.
• Support installation activities and provide technical guidance in the field.
• Modify control programs to improve performance and energy efficiency.
• Maintain project documentation and communicate progress, issues, and solutions.
• Assist with mentoring and training junior technicians and programmers.
