Job summary

Tekgence Inc. in Columbus, Indiana, is seeking a System Test Engineer for a long-term, on-site role focused on automotive embedded systems testing and Battery Management System projects, including CAN, J1939, OBD, and UDS.

You will design, develop, validate, and execute requirement-based tests, establish test plans, configure HIL environments, collaborate with software and hardware teams, and manage defects in JIRA/RV&S.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, developing, and validating requirement-based testing for systems.
• Experience with CAN, J1939, OBD and UDS automotive communication.
• Test automation using CAPL scripting, NI TestStand, Python.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (system, software, hardware).
• Expertise with Vector CANoe/CANape, HIL, RV&S, GitLab, OEM calibration tools.
• Experience with MIL/SIL testing.
• Battery Management System domain knowledge.
• Review requirements and define verification strategies.
• Create system test plans, test specifications, procedures, schedules.
• Configure test benches and HIL environments.
• Establish traceability between requirements and test cases.
• Identify, document, and track defects using JIRA, ALM, or RV&S.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and system engineers to resolve issues.
• Conduct HIL testing using dSPACE, NI TestStand, or equivalent platforms.
• Perform fault injection and safety mechanism validation.
• Adhere to ASPICE standards.
