Job summary

Johnson Barrow is seeking a Sales Leader for Building Management Systems in Washington. The role focuses on technical consultative selling, increasing specification influence, and supporting engineers and contractors through the design process to position controls solutions early in the project cycle.

The candidate will lead strategic growth with engineering firms, engage major HVAC projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated BMS packages.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in HVAC controls, building automation, or BMS sales.
• Demonstrated success in specification-driven sales.
• Strong understanding of applied HVAC systems and integration strategies.
• Experience working with consulting engineers and mechanical contractors in the Pacific Northwest.
• Proven leadership ability and experience mentoring sales professionals.

Responsibilities

• Strategic growth: increase specification presence with top engineering firms.
• Support contractors in selecting controls solutions for new construction and retrofit projects.
• Engage early on major HVAC projects to influence system architecture and operation sequences.
• Build relationships with engineers, contractors, and building owners; conduct presentations and demos.
• Develop scopes and proposals for BMS packages; maintain sales pipeline and forecasts.
• Provide high-level technical sales support for DDC, BACnet/Modbus, and integration.
• Collaborate with operations and project management to ensure seamless execution.
