Caterpillar is seeking a Battery Controls Engineering Specialist in Peoria, IL. You will lead the development of BMS control software for diverse Caterpillar applications, guiding from requirements through production implementation on BMS controllers.

You will work with global teams, mentor engineers, and apply model-based development and lab/testing methods to deliver robust, validated control strategies and solutions for electrified powertrains.

Qualifications

• Define and document BMS control requirements.
• Develop core and application software features for BMS.
• Apply MIL/SIL simulations for testing and verification.
• Calibrate and validate BMS features in lab and field environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional engineering teams to implement BMS control strategies.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure system integration and validation.
• Provide on-site support at proving grounds and customer locations as needed.
• Protect Caterpillar’s IP and deliver cost- and time-effective technical solutions.
