Job summary

BETA Technologies is seeking a Battery Management System Engineer to own the end-to-end BMS and charge control for our aircraft. You will work on bare-metal bring-up, MCU timing, and software/hardware integration, fostering safety and reliability in a small, focused team.

The role requires C/C++ and Python expertise, experience with embedded development, and a hands-on approach to testing and certification environments in South Burlington, VT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, CS, embedded systems.
• Experience with embedded software/hardware development.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
• Experience with lab equipment and test setups.
• Familiarity with version control (Git/SVN).

Responsibilities

• Design battery and charge management systems with safety and fuel gauging.
• Provide support and improvements for existing hardware and software on aircraft.
• Write system-level, software, and hardware requirements for certification-intent aircraft charge controller.
• Lead development of new and improved software and implementation/testing on hardware and in aircraft.
• Support debugging and testing of hardware and software in a certification environment.
• Coordinate with Ground Support Equipment (GSE) team for seamless charging across platforms.
